Sometimes life gets in the way

I’ve been slacking in my duties. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. I think I can explain it by using Monday as an example.

I had my alarm set for 0600. I woke up at 0540 because the room was un-naturally quiet. And that was because several breakers had flipped in the electrical panel downstairs.

I get up. I look outside. The heat lamp in the chicken coop is off. If it’s on there’s an indicator light that we can see from my room. So it’s not just my room that’s off, but the outside electronics as well. Normally that wouldn’t alarm me too much but we had just gotten a cold snap that put the temps below zero. We have a heat lamp and a heated water container in the coop, but when I say “heated” we’re talking about as low as you can get temperature wise. I’m not running a chicken day spa, but I am keeping the inside of a relatively small coop above freezing, and keeping the water as water and not ice.

I spend the next hour and a half running down the source of the flipped breakers. It turns out that my mom, bless her heart, had essentially daisy-chained a whole bunch of electric heating elements through one circuit. That circuit included my room. And it wasn’t the elements for the chicken coop that caused it to blow, but the water heater for the horse trough. Again, we’re just keeping it de-iced, but at -5 that takes quite a bit of juice.

I then spend another two hours moving electrical cords, chopping ice, and getting rewired so that the heating elements are all on their own circuits. Plug everything in, and voila! It works, and no breakers are flipping.

I then get to shower and go to work.

After work, I then have other meetings that are more community related but are still an obligation.

I got home at around 2030 hours, where I then finally manage to grab a beer and a cigar, and only then do I have enough time to sit down at my computer. Wash, rinse, blow-dry, repeat.

However, I must say that I’m still not tired of all the winning yet. And RFK Jr just got confirmed. All those Democrat Pharma stooges must really be enjoying their lives right now.

Kash Patel just got approved for his own floor vote. Get him confirmed and start decentralizing the DC FBI office, with lots of transfers to Minot (ND), Anchorage (AK), Laramie (WY) and the new SoCal regional office in Baker (halfway between Barstow and the CA/NV State Line, not to mention home of the World’s Tallest Thermometer!).
