…four musicians got together to make a little music. It’s not like they hadn’t done so already. Indeed, each of the four was a member of a rather successful group. Nevertheless, they wanted to stretch their wings in new ways, and they felt a certain commonality of purpose. So they recorded a couple of albums together.
Who were these musicians, I hear you ask? Oh, no one much:
- Neal Morse of Spock’s Beard;
- Roine Stolt of the Flower Kings;
- Pete Trewavas of Marillion;
- Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater.
They recorded under the name Transatlantic. Here’s one of their offerings:
Sadly, Neal Morse ceased to participate in Transatlantic after two albums. All things must pass, I suppose.
